Who it’s for

You’re in the right place if…

You’re the owner and the CEO, and the business still runs through you

Decisions queue at your desk. Your senior team waits for you instead of deciding. You want them to think and decide like owners.

You’ve got a leadership team on paper, not in practice

Good people with job titles, no shared numbers, no accountability between them, and meetings that end without decisions.

You want to step up, not out

Lead the strategy, the numbers and the big calls, and hand the day-to-day to a team that can carry it.

You’re planning a managing director, a general manager or an exit

A business someone else can run, or buy, needs a leadership team that works without you in the room.

What a month looks like

Leadership team coaching: the owner and the team, together

  • Owner sessions. Your own sessions on the decisions only you can make: structure, people, cash, growth, what to stop doing.
  • Leadership team sessions. Your senior team, together, on the business: one set of numbers, clear ownership of each area, decisions made and written down.
  • Between sessions. Wrap-around support on Teams, WhatsApp and by phone, for you and, within what we agree, your leaders. Training for your team is included at this level.
  • Every quarter. Where the business is against the plan, who is accountable for what, and what changes next quarter.

The aim is simple: a leadership team that runs the business on one set of numbers, with clear ownership and real accountability, so you can lead it instead of carrying it.

Why me

A CEO coach who is also an owner

Most executive coaches have coached. I own and invest in businesses in medical technology, manufacturing, care and supported living, marketing and sales, and accounting and finance, and I’ve mentored owners of 100+ businesses since 2012. I’ve had to build a leadership team, hand over the day-to-day and hold people to account in my own companies. The advice comes from that, not from a framework. My prices are published, and the first conversation is free.

If what you need is one-to-one mentoring for yourself, start with how working with me goes. If you want a seat on your board rather than coaching, see non-executive director and board advisor.

“If you are a business Owner, Senior Exec, or Director, I recommend engaging with Lewis Haydon as a mentor or business coach. I have engaged with many specialist trainers over the years, and as much as they can be engaging and entertaining, there is a part of me that believes it's easier said than done when you are responsible for your business and other people's livelihoods... Where Lewis is different is the fact that he actually runs multiple businesses of his own across different sectors, so there is very much an ethos of practising what he preaches. (he also allowed me an opportunity to meet with people within his business ) During our time together, I have been able to reassess my personal and business priorities, allowing me to spend my time on the things that make a difference. If you are stuck on the next level of scale or need help to focus your leadership team, I highly recommend working with Lewis. My tip to anyone engaging with external consultancy is to leave your ego at the door and be prepared to listen & learn.”

Questions

What is the difference between business coaching and executive coaching?

Business coaching works on the business: structure, cash flow, growth, delegation. Executive coaching works on the leader: how you decide, lead and hold people to account. Owner-directors need both at once, because in a business of this size the owner and the business are the same thing. That’s what this is.

Is this CEO coaching for a corporate CEO?

No. It’s for owner-directors of established businesses, usually £1m–£20m turnover, and the senior people who run the business with them. If you’re a salaried executive in a large company, a corporate executive coach will suit you better.

How much does it cost?

£3,500 a month plus VAT for you and your leadership team. For comparison, UK executive coaching for one person is usually £200 to £450 an hour. One-to-one mentoring for the owner alone starts at £800 a month; every price is on the pricing page.

Do you have to know my industry?

No, and it isn’t what makes the difference. I’ve sat with owners across twenty-plus sectors. What matters is that I own and run businesses myself, so I’m working from the same seat as you, not a textbook.

In person or online?

Both. Leadership team sessions work best in your business, in person, across the UK. Owner sessions run in person or on Zoom.
